The Beijing Tai Chi & Kung Fu Academy was founded in 1999 by Sifu Jonathan Weizhang Wang. With 18 years of Kung Fu training, Sifu Wang decided to pass on to others the knowledge and skills that he had acquired under both Grandmaster Jiang Hao-Quan and his father, Grandmaster Daniel Yu Wang. The goal of the Beijing Tai Chi & Kung Fu Academy is to revive the Nan-King Guoshu Institute's curriculum and train the most well-rounded Kung Fu artists possible. Kung Fu is a 2000 year old traditional Chinese martial art with approximately 129 different styles. In order to preserve the art of Kung Fu, the Chinese government created the Nan-King Guoshu Institute in 1927. Top Masters in China gathered together to train hundreds of students. These students were required to fully master forms, weapons, fighting sets, freestyle weapons and empty hand sparring before being allowed to graduate.

It simply has the most diverse curriculum with two great teachers. One true master of Tai Chi and another who is winning all of the International competitions.

you get great attention from the instructors. They are always willing to answer questions. They are not intimidating but well respected. Also you feel like it's a family not just a school.

They're the only Kung Fu school in the West Los Angeles area that strives to preserve techniques from over 100 years ago. !

Comprehensive study of Kung Fu. You learn the art, the sport, the defense, and the history behind each form. It's a very enriching and holistic experience.

I have been training in the Chinese Martial arts collectively for about 14 years now, and this school is hands down the BEST, most authentic and true Chinese martial arts school in the SoCal area. If you want real traditional Chinese Martial arts, you need look no further.

I'm a kung fu student at BTKA and I love the fact that Sifu Jonathan Wang teaches for the love of kung fu. I had a teacher from Pasadena before who watered down the curriculum to appeal to the lowest common denominator. That teacher was more interested in making money than nurturing great students. He even had 3 year contracts that people couldn't get out off without ruining their credit. Sifu Wang would rather have a small school with less dedicated students than have a big school just to make money. He is also a great martial artist, in forms and in fighting, and is a wonderful inspiration to the rest of us. Our school has won over 200 medals this year alone. I am very proud to be a part of BTKA.
