Café Bolívar is the best! José and Noreen are one of the nicest people I've ever met. The arepas, jamón serrano sandwich, and Oaxacan Mocha are my favorites!
I am biased because my friends own & operate this cafe, but I can remember the 1st time I met them. They have a knack for making a shy Japanese artist feel comfortable. And when you think about it, after all the coffee and cakes you ate, it's the vibe of a place that makes you want to come back tomorrow. Congrats Jose & Norine!!!

Jose, the owner, has a soothing personality. He makes everyone feel at home. The special events they do around cultural and political issues provide an opportunity to get a sense of community. The art is unique and representative of the struggle of others we are detached from. I go to Cafe Bolivar on days when I need a spiritual boost and it never fails. I call it my therapy.
You have to try the pacifico with chicken on a French roll ...it's the best sandwich you'll ever taste :)
