Toribio Prado and Mario Tamayo opened the original Cha Cha Cha in Silverlake in 1986. The restaurant’s Caribbean food and festive atmosphere was inspired by their travels and became a quick success. A few months later, well-known food critic for the Los Angeles Times, Ruth Reichl, enthusiastically reviewed the restaurant and the rest, as they say, is history. Cha Cha Cha has always been a family-owned and run business and three of Mr. Prado’s nephews, Miguel, Jorge, and Javier Anaya became part of the team early on. They honed their skills at other restaurants, such as The Ivy, Cava Restaurant, The Ritz Carlton and California Pizza Kitchen and were part owners in Confete. In June 2003, they became the principal owners of the Silverlake Cha Cha Cha and in August 2003 they opened another Cha Cha Cha in West Hollywood.

great tapas (had the jerk chicken pizza, a mushroom dish, empanadas, tamales, plaintains) and GREAT sangria!!
