It all began in 1972. The year after the big quake; and three more tremors would hit the west coast. Not of mother nature, but of an artistic nature. These would shake the art of stand-up comedy, comprising a shock that would shift its creative center 3,000 miles westward from New York to Los Angeles. The Comedy Store was born on the Sunset Strip in April. Johnny Carson moved his show permanently to Burbank in May. And in June, Richard Bryor staged his "comeback" on the stage of The Original Room at the brand new Comedy Store. Little did anyone know that these three oddly connective events would signal the tumultuous wave of stand up comedy that has since taken our country by storm.

Nice venue -- small intimate and everyone's got a good seat. Reasonable prices on the acts -- I saw 6 comedians for ~$20. I guess the quality of the show is all about who they have that night, but I enjoyed myself.
Saw a great show here Friday night. $20 for a lineup of 10+ acts. Some guys you knew, some you'd never heard of, but they were all good for a load of laughs. Excellent staff too -- very attentive and knew when to remind people to shut up.
