dean. was established in the fall of 1999 after searching endlessly for a wide leather watch band with a vintage feel yet a modern sensibility. I was looking for a perfect blend of the past and the present. The whip stitch band is that combination. The stitching along the edge has a very vintage feel, while the chrome buttons (instead of a buckle) offer a more clean and modern means of closure. Since then I have taken that idea and applied it to many other styles of bands, watch faces and hand-crafted bags. Using old methods of construction with updated shapes and exciting "new" leathers I have blended the past with the present.
