We have been very happy with our previous dogs who have been trained through Dog Services Unlimited, so when we got our new puppy, Max, last year, of course, we called Paul and Patty Thurner at Dog Services once again to work with him. We had Max stay in their home for their 3-week Board-Training program. What a wonderful experience! He learned to stop counter-surfing in the kitchen, and to calm down and become trustworthy in the house and stop being destructive, and he even slept in their bedroom at night. When he came back home with us, he was stress-free and happy and he now obeys all of his obedience commands, even with distractions. When we had to go out of town a couple months ago, and he got to go back to stay there for vacation boarding, he got so excited when we drove up... He really has a fun time playing with the other dogs all day and not having to stay in a cage or a kennel. Dog Services Unlimited is great!!! I think we will sign up for their Frisbee-Dog or Agility classes next.

Over the past 12 years, we have had all four of our dogs in various training programs with Dog Services Unlimited. We have had experienced, caring trainers in the group classes, and we have found their fees to be VERY REASONABLE compared to other dog trainers... an excellent value for the wealth of information and help we received! Thank you Dog Services, for making it possible for us to be able to take our dogs anywhere, with the confidence of knowing they will be well behaved, trustworthy companions!

Dog services trainers are the grand masters of the business. No one knows dog behavior and culture better or has more experience in dog training. Without Paul and Khara we would have returned our " incorrigible" Cairn Terrier puppy to his breeder. Because of their skills and experience, we now have the best little pal in world.

this company has been in biz so long because they are great people, who hire great people who really love dogs and love their job. it shows in the group classes as well as in the private in home lessons which teach how to resolve specific needs not always fixed in a class setting, like how to stop the dog from chewing the furniture, or where to go potty but besides the obedience classes they have fun classes like agility and frisbee and i hope they will be adding more rally obedience classes closer to home because those are really great classes that can be repeated without getting board, ya know sometimes ya just gotta keep your dog on track...i know my dog loves going to class, so i keep her going just to meet new dogs, and tighten up her skills in new situations. i've been thru other trainers and Dog Services Unlimited is the best in OC!

I sent my Papillon for 3 weeks of training. Our neighbor complained about barking & our city is very strict.Neither my husband nor I had time to train & be consistent. I didn’t realize that there were dog trainers that actually train in their home like a normal living situation instead of strictly kennel training. When I filled out the forms the day we dropped him off it asked what problems we were having. This was my list: Barking, running out the door, not coming when called, wanting us to chase him, jumping on us as well as our guests, mouthing/biting (puppy play non-aggressive), jumped off the boat, ran down the dock. I had already taken him to a puppy obedience class but he didn’t do any of his commands with any consistency. The most distressing were the barking & running away. I was afraid he would get hit by a car or my husband would get hurt chasing him down the street. When we picked him up Paul put him through his paces and I watched as my husband also put him through his paces. He did his sit, stay, down, recall, heel. He is actually better than our 2 Field Trained Goldens!! He came home with perfect manners, perfect on & off leash. It was a Total Puppy Transformation!! He came home calm, confident & no barking problems & happy to obey commands. I would have given him away rather than de-bark him. Just 2 months before I lost my horse & wasn't ready to lose another beloved friend. Years ago I trained my Dobermans, German Shepherds, an Afghan but didn't have a clue what to do with a Toy breed. Who would have throught a little dog could be so different/difficult?? I heard Papillons were smart & thought I could at least train him for the basic commands. I was wrong. Paul & Patty are absolutely unbelievable. I was looking for the Dog Whisperer since I pretty much needed a miracle. I found not one but two. I am eternally grateful.

Patty and Paul are the OC Dog Whisperers as far as I am concerned. We've done Parks/Recs training with them and private training. Our dogs LOVE them and respond to their coaching. We found them to be effective in resolving our dog behavior issues!

Dog Services Unlimited's training is great! I used them several years ago for training my 100 lb Golden Retriever and now we are training my 105 lb Lab/Mastiff mix. The trainers are knowledgeable and patient (with both dog and owners!) We have had great success each time we have used them and I wouldn't use anyone else!

My husband I are very fortunate to have found Dog Services. We adopted two labs and both came to us needing some training. Both attended training with Paul and then spent time at their house in training. I am happy to say the dogs are great thanks to Paul and Patty's hard work and genuine care for animals.

I have dealt with Dog Services since I was a child. All of my dogs became trained and well adjusted. I was able to take what I learned in class and use it at home. Thank you Dog Services!!

How does a 103 lb owner control a 93 lb stubborn Dobie? Take him to one or more of Dog Services Unlimited dog training classes!
My family and friends laughed when I told them we were signing up. They just knew we would flunk out in the beginning. Well, we finished two classes and we are so much better for it! Theresa B. taught us so much about each other. Her training was firm but kind. She is extremely knowledgeable about dog psychie and handlers too! Not a lesson went by without learning more than just the command. Max and I now have a great relationship thanks to the proper training we both received.

My Golden Retriever, Zoe, is now 2 years old. We have taken almost every class you offer beginning with Puppy Kindergarten.
Best educational class we've taken is the Drill class with Theresa B. She is a professional trainer of both dog and people. I recommend all of her class to others when they truly want to learn to train their dog.
Most Darn Fun class we've taken is the Agility Class with April - Great way to enjoy your dog and others. A wonderful way to keep you and your dog in shape and happy. April's laugh and the dogs' antics make this the best hour in town.
Because of all your classes, Zoe passed the AKC Good Citzen test in March 2007 and she has become a Pet Assisted Therapy Dog with the Pets Are Wonderful Support (PAWS) group of the Orange County SPCA. We visit Older Adults and Children various residential facilities in the County. Zoe is very well mannered with all age groups of people and all of the other visiting dogs in the program. This is a great way for us to be together and help others.
Thanks for keeping good trainers available for everyone who cares about their dog! See you at the next class...

I have taken three classes with Dog Services Unlimted with my cocker spaniel. We just passed the AKC Canine Good Citizens Program at Irvine Community Park. I am so impressed with their services. The instructors are gentle and supportive while training Murphy and I to achieve our ultimate goal of being a pet-assisted therapy team. I highly recommend instructors Khara, Theresa and Paul. They have helped Murphy and me in getting us to this important stage in our training.

We took the novice training with Khara last year and then we took the Review training last month. Both trainers were excellent. Then Paul was very patient with our nerviness for completing our AKC Citizens Program.

Again, thanks and I would highly recommend anyone in need of dog training take your courses. Murphy agrees. Pat

April is the best Agility teacher we've ever had! Very creative, challenges even the most experienced dogs and handlers!

She also teaches thru LB Parks and Rec!
