Best chocolate ever!
I LOVE chocolate and am a conisseur. I have tasted it in more than 30 countries around the world. I was so excited when I first found Downeys - it was so good but over past 2 years it has gone downhill rapidly. Im not sure why? Perhaps they got a new chocolatier? My family & freinds have stated the same thing. Im so disappointed but the last couple times i went the usual items i get tasted different and also had that taste of being in freezer to long/not fresh. I hope they figure out & get back to their original formula or chef or whatever they had wehn the store first opened because it USED to be great.
Oh My God they make the best chocolates I have ever eaten. I'm a small person but I could eat a pound of their chocolates by my self and still keep my figure...

"Idontcaredoyou" is obviously bitter about something, and it can't be Tracey's chocolate!
Downey Chocolates are the best I've ever had. I'm sad, however, to report that they have closed their doors. This economy has just been too much for the small business to withstand. Tracey took down her customer's email addresses, and said she'll let us know when gets back up on her feet. It's too bad that we lost our delicious, local chocolate shop.
Those people who all wrote reviews of this place within a couple of days must be employees or something, because that looks a little fishy, plus, if they actually knew anything about what good chocolate is, then they wouldn't rave so much. This place is not that good, almost borderline bad. I mean come on, if I wanted Godiva or See's, then I would go there. Try being creative people and make something that is actually quality and stop trying to copy all the other bad chocolate makers that are in Orange County. Someone, please help us and give a chocolate maker that actually makes good chocolates.

Discovered their store a few months ago since it is near a soup plantation I go to, but was closed at the time so didn't get to try it out until right before Mother's Day. I enjoy chocolate from all over the world and make it part of each vacation I take to find great chocolate shops. In the past year was eating chocolate in New York and Tokyo and the chocolate here is just as good. I will be making frequent visits here now, and it is so close to my home, this is great.

Tracy Downey and her team have created a little corner of heaven, just a few doors down from our favorite wine shop! I think it was Divine Providence that placed these two shops in such close proximity! Downey's Chocolates makes the best chocolates I have ever had. The taste is to die for, but the visual appeal is so high that you almost can't bring yourself to eat them. Notice I said "almost." These candies are in the most imaginative shapes and colors. Downey's also features exquisite coffees, crepes and Gelato. The varieties of each are almost endless. We never run out of new things to enjoy at Downey's.
Not only Tracey is an artist, she also gives much to charity. She's the best!

The "BigMouth" is to die for... it is so good ! They make to best caramel turtles and their custom chocolates are unbelievable.
