Many people are often interested in the origin of the name, Hogly Wogly. Dr. Hogly Wogly's Tyler Texas BBQ was founded in 1969 by a gentleman named Johnnie Green from Tyler Texas. As a child, he worked as a delivery boy for a Piggly Wiggly grocery store and earned the nickname Hogly Wogly. He later became a pharmacologist with a special talent for barbequing. As history goes, his meats were so tasty that even President Lyndon B. Johnson sought out Johnnie's barbecued meats.

Best brisket, best beef ribs, best BBQ in the Valley - it's a great place to meat! :-)

I was raised in Tyler, Tx from the age of a couple of days old...don't ask me why my mom decided to have me in OK! Oh yeah cause she is Native American and the indian hospital was free! :) Anyways I am a Texan through and through! I have barbeque from all over Texas and now that I live in South Orange County some places here. With that said if you want a taste of what we Texans think barbeque should taste like then you are going to have to make this place a destination of yours! I have only gone once, because I live so far, but trust me the links and the brisket are finger-licking Good! And if you are ever in Tyler, Tx try Hickory Fare Barbeque (best brisket second to none), through out Texas Rudy's (love the barbeque sauce), and in Austin or San Antonio Bill Millers Barbeque it is good, cheap, the Tea is great, and it has a drive thru!

It's the best brisket and hot links that I've had anywhere.

If you have had the brisket, you wouldn't ask why they are the best. You would know.
