Dukes West Hollywood, formerly known as Duke's Coffee Shop, was founded in 1968 as part of the Tropicana Motel on Santa Monica Blvd. In 1987, Dukes moved to its current location at 8909 Sunset Blvd. Besides serving delicious food, Dukes is known as a "musical mecca" having fed countless celebrity regulars like Jim Morrison, Tom Waits, Janis Joplin, The Runaways, John Belushi, Rickie Lee Jones, etc. Dukes has been mentioned in world famous literature, movies, and music over the last four decades.
