As a third generation jeweler, Gabriel Agopyan is no stranger to the jewelry industry. With much encouragement from his grandfather, father, and uncles, he too would be apart of an elite group of master craftsmen. As a young adult, his father wanted dearly to have his son continue the family business and legacy of their craft. It was from this passion that Gabriel applied and was accepted into the top jewelry production and general education institution at Grand Bazaar (Kapali Carsi), Istanbul, Turkey.
Through his intense discipline and attention to detail, Gabriel rose through the ranks to become a master jeweler, diamond setter, and gem specialist. With much knowledge and experience, he knew that the United States was the only place in the world where he could enrich his talents to their full potential. After many trials and tribulations, Lapis Fine Jewelry and Manufacturing was born in 1979 and remained open until 1985. It was in that same year that Gabriel met and fell in love with his future wife, Lorin. With his wife by his side, they ventured into a new business: European Fine Jewelry Manufacturing, in Downtown Los Angeles' Jewelry District.
