The Harbor House Café is known for good, friendly service and large portions. For over 65 years we have been serving our customers with quallity food, reasonable prices, and friendly service. Our dishes are made with the freshest ingredients and are prepared from scratch every day. Both of our restaurants, Sunset Beach and Dana Point, will take you back in time with movie memorabilia and antique displays. Come in to any of our restaurants, you'll feel right at home.
Cannot believe this awful place won! Has to have gotten votes from the staff! First off, the days we dined (?) there, they did not have "food made from scratch". My husband's hamburger was made straight from the frozen patty in their freezer. The onion rings were the same, served cooled down and hard. They had a memorable bitter flavor as I recall. I agree the the review about the complaining waitresses, let's be real here folks, this is not a place that cares about freshly made food and has a chef in the kitchen from a culinary school!There is a second Harbor House in Dana Point, equally as bad, and very depressing. That one even has a bad odor to it! I would have never thought to give this 1st place!
I went to Harbor House a few years ago on a Monday and never have been back. It was a slow day, Monday, the 2 waitresses working the back room were complaining about it being slow and also could not wait to get out of there (and this went on and on.) The service was slow and the food not so good to make up for the complaining going on. One waitress kept messing with her hair and blowing her nose. It was very uncomfortable. I cannot imagine how this restaurant won! Allison, Newport Beach
