Proud to be a WINNER of the 2007 FOX LA HOTLIST contest. The House of Madame JoJo has been a locals' favorite restaurant in Long Beach, California since 1994. Modeled after a bordello by the same name in London, England, the ambience is decidedly sexy. The shimmer of candlelight against copper panels in the dining room adds to the intimate atmosphere, as does the large dimly lit chandelier, and the original art collection known as “The Bordello Suite.” There are only ten tables in this intimate setting, so please call ahead for reservations! 562.439.3672.

I hope they don't win this contest. I like the fact that I can just show up at Madam Jo Jo's without a reservation and get seated right away and have a great meal. If they win I'm afraid I will no longer be able to do this. Ah well, with meals like the maple salmon and appetizers like the sauted gorgonzola mushrooms, fresh bread hot from the oven, and a great wine list, they won't be a secret for long. I suppose I ought to enjoy it while it lasts.
About as unique as it gets. Small enough and personable enough to feel like you are dining with good friends. My daughter and I felt like regulars the first time we ate at Madame JoJo's thanks to the attention we received from the entire staff. The boas and hats put us in a happy mood the moment we sat down. I've recommended it to friends countless times...
