L.A.'s premiere improv and sketch comedy venue, the iO WEST Theatre (formerly Improv Olympic), features the best improv and sketch comedy in Hollywood, with shows on two stages, seven nights a week! Celebrity guests perform with veteran improvisers every week. iO WEST's 99-seat, two-level Mainstage theatre includes a full bar, cocktail service, and state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems. The Andy Dick Black Box is “the lab in the back:” an experimental space that is open to all ages. Additionally, iO WEST offers improv classes, writing classes, and much more. Our alumni feature the best and brightest actors, writers, and directors in the entertainment industry, including: Emmy-winner, Tina Fey, as well as Amy Poehler, Vince Vaughn, Adam McKay, Mike Myers, Jack McBrayer, Seth Meyers, Chris Farley, Andy Dick, Andy Richter, as well as numerous writers and performers from Saturday Night Live, MADtv, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Late Night With Conan O'Brien, 30 Rock… not to mention the most promising talent of tomorrow.

I love that the shows are completely made up based on one word from the audience. No games and nonsense with a director telling you who and what you are to determine your scene work. At IO West, it is what it is! REAL improv.

iO truly has terrific talent and shows, but it is also a supportive community of friends...a great place to hang out at or work.
I saw Beer Shark Mice on October 6 - my god! Talk about a PACKED HOUSE! The show was so quick and so funny, my head was spinning! I've never laughed so had or so much in my life! I'll definitely be back there this Saturday to see these guys again (and every Saturday night thereafter!) After seeing their talent live on stage, it's little wonder why these guys are WORKING actors.

iO west is simply the best place to see live improv comedy. Must see shows are BEER SHARK MICE and Monday nights Armando Show with a new celebrity guest each week.

Better than other things.
I've seen a number of shows over there and am always thoroughly impressed! Seems to me like the iO performers are better actors...they really seem to develop great relationships on stage. It's not just a bunch of jokes. They really earn the laughs they get and they don't treat the audience like idiots.

They have the best performers and the most consistently great improv in the whole city! And I watch it everywhere!

Their shows are hilarious and inexpensive! A good place to take a date....and a great place to see celebrities like Tim Meadows and Neil Flynn perform!
My sister has performed at this fabulous theater and we have always enjoyed the shows.
