J9's K9s is a dog training school in Southern California. Owner, Janine Pierce, and the J9's K9s crew are passionate in their belief that DOG TRAINING IS FUN!
J9's K9s offers motivational, reward-based training for humans and dogs of all ages. Group classes range from Puppy Head Start for pups 7-16 weeks to Advanced Obedience, Agility, Canine Good Citizen, and even specialty classes such as Street Smarts, Rocket Recall and an annual training summer camp, "Camp Waggin' Tails".
Group classes are held in Canoga Park, Granada Hills and Van Nuys. Private lessons are also available either at our indoor facility in Canoga Park or in-home. J9's K9s specializes in basic-advanced obedience, problem-solving and behavior modification for aggression, anxiety, fears, phobias and other behavioral challenges.

Learn While You Play at J9's K9s!
I took my first class with J9SK9S almost 9 years ago when I first got my 4 month old puppy (after he ate the new couch, chair and stair railing). After one class I was hooked with 1) how much better behaved my puppy became and 2) how much fun it was. I continued to take classes for over a year and throughout that last 9. Her company is actively involved in education, training, and community support and I believe she is a wonderful role model for this local area pet training industry.
Very simple, non complex, easy to follow, puts it in everyday understanding life
J9's K9's is the best canine obedience and agility training service in Southern California. My sister and I have both taken 6 classes a piece (puppy, beginners, intermediate, advanced, street smarts, and Canine Good Citizenship/Therapy) and we are completely hooked. We have to drive 1.5 hours (each way) to attend the classes, but we have found them to be so invaluable. We are so amazed by the training methods, experience and professionalism of the staff and the facilities (Canoga Park). No harsh methods, just positive reinforcement and timing, timing, timing! Janine and Stephanie are both expert dog trainers that make the classes both fun and instructional. We are astounded at how obedient our dogs have become. The compliments that we receive from our dogs are as a result of the J9's K9's classes. Prepare to work hard, learn invaluable tips and tools, do your homework, and enjoy the bond you develop with your dog! Live by their motto: Nothing in Life is Free (i.e. your dog must perform an exercise in order to earn every treat, meal, play time, attention and praise from you).
I'm currently in their beginning training class and have seen remarkable improvements w/my rescue maltese that had serious issues - I highly recommend Janine and J9's K9's
I took my dog through 4 different levels of classes here when he was younger. He is now 8 yrs old and the training we received at J9's K9s has proved to be invaluable and a fun way to interract with our dog. Would highly recommend it!!!!

The best dog training. I have a Yorki mix who has issues. J9'sK9s really work with him. My family and I really see a differance after completing the Beginners class.
J9s K9's is the best. Janine, Stephanie and the crew are the best trainers around. Janine offers an assortment of behavioral training classes for humans and their K9 companions and make the training fun. I will continue to drive miles to the San Fernando Valley for this training. You can't find it anywhere else!
Stephanie is the best! She loves the dogs and is kind to humans too. She has a great sense of humor and makes training fun.

Best training for humans & dogs
Without a doubt, J9sK9s is the best group of dog trainers I have utilized over the years. Their training method is positive reinforcement and results are tremendous. AND, classes are fun! I would highly recommend J9sK9s! Keep up the great work!

I looked a long time for a dog trainer and once I discovered J9sK9s I never left! I have taken two dogs through training there and both became therapy dogs and K9 Crisis Response Team members. Janine teaches tou how to understand your K9, how to work with them and learn the reasons behind what you are doing while having a fun time with your fur kid using only positive reinforment techniques. As Janine recently said- we- her students- have learned "Inter-species communication". It is so true!Once you have been a student at J9sK9s- Janine and her Crew are always there to support you! And they have dog camps for their studentd too!
They love dogs. One would think that that would be a given. Nope.
They have done, and continue to do, their research. Which is to say, stimulus, response, reinforcement. Behaviorism works. Why create a neurotically obedient dog when you could create a happily obedient dog?

My first training with Janine was in 9 years ago with by golden Chance and Janine spent a great deal of time over the phone with me and in our training sessions both class and private. My most recent training with Janine was earlier this year with my golden pup Zack and even though her business has grown she still spent the same amount of time with me both over the phone and before or after class. She only uses positive training techniques and is definitely an expert on dog behavior. Janine is great.
J9's K9's is well organized and very professional. They have been fabulous at training my family and our dog as a unit. I love there gentle loving approach with my dog. I am planning on taking many more of there classes and eventually training our dog to be a therapy dog. I would highly recommend Janine and her staff.
