J9's K9s is a dog training school in Southern California. Owner, Janine Pierce, and the J9's K9s crew are passionate in their belief that DOG TRAINING IS FUN! J9's K9s offers motivational, reward-based training for humans and dogs of all ages. Group classes range from Puppy Head Start for pups 7-16 weeks to Advanced Obedience, Agility, Canine Good Citizen, and even specialty classes such as Street Smarts, Rocket Recall and an annual training summer camp, "Camp Waggin' Tails". Group classes are held in Canoga Park, Granada Hills and Van Nuys. Private lessons are also available either at our indoor facility in Canoga Park or in-home. J9's K9s specializes in basic-advanced obedience, problem-solving and behavior modification for aggression, anxiety, fears, phobias and other behavioral challenges. Janine and her team of trainers offer the most creative, humane and effective range of training classes I have ever encountered. Each dog/human team is assisted individually to assure success, and that includes support for the life of the dog. Excellent all around.
It's not just for doggy youngsters! My 9 yr old Aussie mix has been the Grande Dame in all her classes. We both have a great time while learning. It strengthened our bond and gave us some Mommy and me time, since she's part of a 3 dog house. And we started our 7 yr old Aus Cattle Dog too. He and Dad still play hide and seek, in the house, enthusiastically! Fun is the key, for humans and dogs.
J9's K9s is the BEST! You won't find better trainers than Stephanie and Janine anywhere! Their classes are always a lot of fun and their methods are all reward based. They offer something for everyone, from the Puppy Headstart Program to Advanced classes. In addition to that, there are outings to the beach, hikes, urban adventures and even Camp Waggin' Tails at Big Bear! Whew! The list goes on and on... All I can say is my dog Madison and I are huge fans and will continue training with J9's K9s for a long time to come because it's so much fun we just don't want to stop!

Boure had 3 owners before joining Rick and May. He tried other training but hit a wall and wouldn't go any further. Since starting with J9'sK9ns, he has not only overcome his fears, but has learned that the positive reinforcement techniques used by Jenine and Stephanie not only motivates him, but is proven in that he is now doing tricks, enjoying agility training and field trips and wilderness walks. He is now a fun and lovable member of our family.

The philosophy of Janine Pierce and the J9's K9s crew that dog training is "Fun" is truly that! Janine's advanced classes are designed on the basis of what each student wishes to accomplish, whether it be modifying a behavior or teaching their dog a trick. Since every advanced class is unique and many special classes are offered, Janine Pierce and Stephanie Colman have a large following of dog enthusiasts returning to learn more while having fun and bonding with their special friend. I started training under Janine when my APBT was just a puppy, she is now seven years old and two Bull Terriers later I continue with J9's K9s. But the best part is, because of the positive motivation, their special training techniques and setting up the dogs for success, my girls can't wait for their turn to go to school and trust me, they know.
They offer good prices, trainers are very patient and have lots of love to offer our dogs.
J9's Rocks!!!! Tasha has come a very long way from that shy dog who hid under the chairs. Thanks to the hard work of all the trainers there, Tasha is now a confident love hound, who is finally capable of tugging on a toy. Thanks J9's K9s!!!
We used to call our little dog a terrorist rather than a terrier before she had training from Stephanie at J9'sK9s. What a difference it made! It's easy to see the team at J9's love what they do.
