Welcome to JiRaffe, one of the most popular restaurants on the hot Santa Monica scene in greater Los Angeles. Located at the corner of 5th Street and Santa Monica Boulevard, JiRaffe opened in 1996 and immediately gained attention and praise from food critics, local diners and food and wine lovers from around the world who visit this beach-side community. The restaurant is under the direction of Chef/Owner Raphael Lunetta. Chef Raphael was a local surfer who attended school in Santa Monica, honed his passion and skills as a surfer and then turned to his love of cooking and became one of the most well-known and interesting chefs in the city. Lunetta and his talented kitchen and restaurant staff continue to please and excite all who enter this charming two-story corner space in downtown Santa Monica.

I lived in Paris for two years and married into a French family. My mother-in-law was famous for her cuisine which I loved and miss on a daily basis. The only chef I know who eases this homesickness for me is Chris at JiRaffe. He is an extraordinarily gifted gastronomic artist. I'm forever grateful to him for allowing me a little visit to Paris each and every time I find myself lucky enough to be sitting at his table. I also want to acknowledge the gracious staff at JiRaffe who make such an important contribution to the warm and welcoming ambiance at a place that has become the Los Angeles French home in my heart.

Ive always eaten whats called the sampler a simple name but delicious and its not on the menu. The chef/owner prepares me appetizer size plates of the entrees in his menu. When he gets a chance he comes by greets my table and others to make sure we are pleased with our visit.
They prepare their food in the healthiest and most original way, and it always taste wonderful. I love the ambiance of the restuarant.
