Joy Theatre is a unique comedy theatre located in North Hollywood, California. We offer 6 regularly scheduled comedy shows every weekend! Starring children and teens the shows are fun and appropriate for all ages. Joy Theatre also offers classes in all things comedy. Our special blend of improv, sketch, standup, characters and more gives kids, teens, and adults a chance to learn courage and confidence while having fun in a safe theatre environment.
Josh and Janiece make Joy Theater a second home for all their kids - my kid has taken plenty of classes in his day, and Sunday Funnies with Stephanie is hands-down his all time favorite. A funnier, kinder, warmer, happier place I could never find - they do terrific work and I love to take my son there every week. What did we do before Joy Theater??
I love Joy Theatre because I never know what will happen next. The shows are fun, entertaining and the kids are brilliant.!
I went to Joy Theatre with my child and she came out crying! The directors were far too hands on with the audience and they scared her! She had nightmares for two days straight! I would not recommend this theatre to any parent or child. It was not a fun way to spend my weekend afternoon

Janice and Josh put on a fantasic comedy improve program for kids and teens at Joy theatre! It's like a summer camp of laughs.

They put on a great show and it's lots and lots of fun!
Janiece and Josh are a great couple who know how to work with kids. Keep up the good work and in helping these kids do sometihng fun and creative. It is so good to see positive things happening with kids nowadays. This lets the kids express themselves in a positive way.
Everyone is so talented and some are very very naturally funny. They have so many different ages of talent not just a general age.
Great support for children / teens with inspiring teachers of comedy. The kids love it!
If your kids (teens too) are new to LA for acting, or if they've been here a while, Joy Theatre should be one of your first and regular workshop / programs. They have been the start of many a kid in Hollywood's journey...they have the track record to prove it.
What sets them apart from the other numerous kids acting programs in LA, is the involvement and personal interaction with Janiece and Josh, and Chris and Stephanie (and the others that coach here).
Joy is NOT a cattle call, cram 'em in and do the same routine over and over again; they are no nonsense, a blast to play with, and it's a safe environment to drop the kids off at.

very funny! saw some kids i've seen on tv too which made my kids very excited. it's an improv show folks, not a kids play, so know that going in! my kid's too shy to go up on stage when she was given the chance, but even though it was comedy, they were nice about it and didn't make fun of her.
10 years ago, my son was linked with these inspiring directors and is now an amazingly successful well spoken advertising executive with a great future!
