Olives Gourmet Grocer opened on October 15, 2004 to great acclaim in the Belmont Heights/ Bluff Park Neighborhoods, with that reputation spreading throughout the area. Now, Olives regularly has customers from Naples, Seal Beach and Bixby Knolls coming in for our homemade specials! It serves as a neighborhood anchor, providing grocery staples such as flour, milk and bread as well as full service prepared foods, homemade specialties and hot meals every night. In February 2005, Olives added Executive Chef Matthew Reyburn to their staff. A California Culinary Academy trained chef, whom also worked in some of the San Francisco Bay areas best restaurants; Girabaldi, Poggio and Star to name a few. Matt’s passion for food has helped take Olives prepared foods to the next level.

If you've never been its a must! The quality of food, management and customer service can't be beat! What ever you do beg, borrow or steal a sample of their signature parmesan spread (Ok, just ask for one) The epicurean knowledge is remarkable and they always know what taste good for you, your friends and family I've never been steered wrong, always always try whatever they offer or suggest (Especially if its from Erin or Laurie)! Again its a Must!!!

Simply the best for foodies everywhere ... I am always inspired to eat well, and to cook well, here. Best sandwiches for my money everywhere made fresh to order on La Brea bakery bread. And don't miss the gingerbread cake, an Olives original!
