Pepe's Restaurants have continuously served the Southland with fine quality Mexican food. Pepe's was founded in 1962 by two brothers, Joe and Tony. The restaurant was originally named El Adobe and in 1963 renamed El Jardin. Unable to find steady business at first, the location was changed several times before finally settling in Alhambra in 1963, where the name was changed permanently to Pepe's. During these early years, the brothers often relied on the help of family members to keep the business growing. In 1963, their nephew Pepe was sent to fight in Vietnam. This is when Tony, out of love for his nephew, renamed the restaurant after him. In the following years, the restaurant had become a great success. However, in 1973 Tony passed away leaving Joe to run the business solely. In 1976, the youngest of the three brothers, Fred, joined in helping to expand Pepe's Restaurants with the opening of the Downey location. Since then, Pepe's has continued to grow, opening locations in both Los Angeles and Orange Counties. The restaurants have continuously served authentic, high quality Mexican food, keeping their secret recipes inside the family. This has made Pepe's the well-known establishment it is today.

you have the best hard tacos. We drive from Hunington Beach just to eat that goog food. Love the resteraunt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pepe's has the best breakfast burrito around- we travel 10 miles just to enjoy it. The rest of the menu is great too, but it is hard to top the behemoth breakfast burrito. We salute anyone who can eat the entire thing in one sitting! Additionally the entire menu is value priced and the drive thru is very convenient.

Pepe's is always great. The food is always fresh and the service/servers are fantastic. Among the items I recommend are the carne asada burritos, breakfast burritos & the hard tacos. 5 stars in my book.
Their burritos are very tasty and their Nachos have the right amount of beans, green chili and cheese.

Because of Pepe's fabulous food and sensational service, it is my second home. My favorite dish is the Chorizo bean & cheese burrito prepared by master chef Julio D. Though Pepe's employs several incredible servers, Betty V. and Alma L. standout. Furthermore, Heidi, Fred & John make up an excellent management team. I highly recommend Pepe's for your dining experience.

I drive approx 14 miles from where I live to get to their Breakfast Burrito. It is worth the drive. They are the best of the best.

I have had several items off of there menu and have not had anything bad. It is good food at a reasonable price and plenty of it.
