Taco Lita is a product of the Summer Of Love, 1967. Although built with bricks, mortar and Southwest-style tile, anyone who grew up in or around Arcadia, CA knows that I am the stuff that dreams are made of. Before any local Taco Bell, Del Taco, Pup 'n' Taco, Naugles or even my late, long-time rival, Celia's El Loco, I was serving burritos, tacos, tostadas and the occasional bean cup to an adoring clientele, hungry for my style of Mexican food served with a "twist." A "twist?" you ask. What is the secret? Some think it's the flavored meat. Others figure it must be the finely grated cheddar cheese. Maybe the beans and cheese served up in modified ice cream scoopers. All I can tell you is that it's all of those; and more. Come see me and order one of my "classics," I would suggest the Combo Burrito, or on Fridays, my "Taco Special." I even have a new, "politically correct" menu for my more sqeamish friends: the Side Salad, Lo-Cal Burrito and Lita Sandwich although I have never actually served any of those items. Beenz'n'cheez!

Wow...look at all those positive comments, and only one negative. My family and I love Taco Lita, I've been eating there since I was born. We live in Palm Springs so when we get a craving we jet on out there, it only takes under 2 hours, but well worth the drive. I even eat them cold. Now there is NO other burrito I can eat cold but Taco Lita.
I went to high school not far from Taco Lita and we use to pile in the care and go here for lunch years ago. Now I live much further and I throw my husband or a friend into the car and I still drive to Taco Lita. The best ground beef burrito you can get-bar none!
At one time there were 15 Taco Litas in the Los Angeles Area. It was started in the late 1950's by a group of War Veterans who returned from the Korean War and wanted have an incorporated Fast Food Business. There is only one remaining,Taco Lita Arcadia.My parents dedicated there lives to it that is why it remains.
Is this the sane Taco Lita that was on Garfield Avenue in Monterey Park in the '60's. These were my mother's favorite burritos which are what we call 'Chimichangas' now. They had the best taco sauce. =P

Taco Lita has the most delicious tacos and burritos on the planet, nothing even comes close! I have been going there since the mid seventies... I love that they don't add anything fancy to them, just good basic fresh burritos and tacos.. I drive in all the way from Playa Del Rey for them ....my sister lives in NC now and ALWAYS has to stop there and has even bought the burritos by the dozen and taken them home on the airplane to her family. We Love Taco Lita!!

Simple, classic, and flavorful.
They rock b/c they have been consistent with their burritos and taco sauce since I can remember, at least since 1980. The menu and food quality, and their special sauce has been delicious and stayed the same for over 25 years which is a real plus. It's fast and yummy for gringo burritos.
I LOVE TACO LITA and of course the staff. Jamie is the best!!!!!
I have been eating at Taco Lita since I was a little kid. I am now 51 and I still think they have the best burritos and tacos.
