In ten short years, The Chance Theater has grown from coffeehouse obscurity to a nationally recognized theater company. The company has produced over 100 plays and musicals including 36 world premieres, 5 West Coast premieres, 2 Southern California premieres, and 13 Orange County premieres. The theatre has received numerous institutional and individual artist awards, countless “Critic’s Pick” designations, and tremendous support from its ever-growing patron base for its high level of artistry and world-class educational programs. “We wanted to see intimate quality theatre in our community,” says Founding Artistic Director Oanh Nguyen. “So we set out to make it happen.”

The company of the Chance Theater is amazing! That this unprepossessing venue can consistently produce one excellent show after another just knocks my socks off! And, they do it at ticket prices that 'real' people can afford, without sacrificing production values. More folks need to know about this theater -- because they're missing the best entertainment deal in SoCal!

The Chance Theater is an award-winning, professional non-profit organization, which dedicates itself "to the exploration of intimate live theater" and to finding true art "through moments of chance," by "provoking visual, emotional and visceral experiences" (mission statement). This theater cannot be missing from a "best of OC" hotlist!! I have seen many different productions there--from Sondheim musicals to cutting-edge Tony-Award winning plays--an no production was less than brilliant!!
