Currently in its eleventh season, the Chance continues to produce innovative and challenging theater in Orange County! Since 1999, the company has produced over 100 plays and musicals including 37 world premieres, 8 West Coast premieres, 2 Southern California premieres, and 17 Orange County premieres.
The theatre has received numerous institutional and individual artist awards, countless “Critic's Pick” designations, and tremendous support from its ever-growing patron base for its high level of artistry and world-class educational programs.
I've followed Erika Ceporius Miller Nguyen for years -- what a great actress she is!
The Chance Theater in Anaheim Hills, CA, is a real gem of a discovery for challenging actors (I have had the priviledge of acting and directing there when I lived nearby) and for enrapturing audiences (I still drive 60 miles or so from Van Nuys, where I live now, to be in their audience when I can, to experience their amazing stage work and warm reception of visitors old and new. Go!
This theatre puts on amazing shows. Oanh Nguyen is a brilliant artistic director. Their attention to detail is phenomenal and they are also a wonderful group of people.
The best line up in town. Nobody has a more eclectic season. Something for everyone, and raising the bar every year...

The talent at Chance is amazing. The venue is great because every seat in the house is good, perfect view of the stage. I have been to several performances over the years and all of them have been great. When the lights dim you forget that youre in a small local theater because the acting, costumes, set, all of it transforms you and the moment. Evita is my favorite to-date but ... its also the last performance I went to. We'll see what they have in store for me over the next few months.

The company of the Chance Theater is amazing! That this unprepossessing venue can consistently produce one excellent show after another just knocks my socks off! And, they do it at ticket prices that 'real' people can afford, without sacrificing production values. More folks need to know about this theater -- because they're missing the best entertainment deal in SoCal!
The Chance Theater is an award-winning, professional non-profit organization, which dedicates itself "to the exploration of intimate live theater" and to finding true art "through moments of chance," by "provoking visual, emotional and visceral experiences" (mission statement). This theater cannot be missing from a "best of OC" hotlist!! I have seen many different productions there--from Sondheim musicals to cutting-edge Tony-Award winning plays--an no production was less than brilliant!!
