The Conservatory was opened in 1995 with the goal of providing our Culver City community with a "safe place" to escape from the hectic city pace and to enjoy an uncompromising cup of coffee, tea, or cocoa. From the very beginning we spared no expense when it came to our products. We started with the goal to roast, not burn our coffee in small batches right in the store for patrons to watch and identify with this favorite American staple. Our philosophy meant using more coffee to water than our competition, discarding brewed coffee that sat more than an hour, hand bagging one of our more than 75 loose leaf teas, and even fresh squeezing orange juice to order.

the music at the Conservatory is always first rate. The service is excellent and the coffees and the teas are the best. I also enjoy the atmosphere.

"Con for Coffee" is no con! It is the best this LA area has to offer to keep us caffeinated and ready for anything.....not to mention the friendliness of the baristas there are as consistent as the quality of their drinks. I love a shop that takes pride in their art...that's right...not work...art!

The best fresh roasted coffee and espresso in the Los Angeles area. An excellent selection of green beans for the home roaster. Friendly staff and just a nice place to hang out, read, write or watch the day go by.
