It's only a good dive bar if you feel a bit smarmy upon entrance and a slight sense of moral relief when you leave and BOY does this joint deliver! You don't know who you will meet, but the characters here are random and novel-worthy. It's in close proximity to other neighborhood bars (Griffin, Bigfoot Lodge) in case you get too depressed. :D

Not only is owner Betty Porto dedicated to her community, but Porto's is HANDS-DOWN the best place for an amazingly large variety of scrumptiousness and fun neighborhood banter. Miami should be so lucky to have a Porto's!!!

A true hidden jewel, the Norton Simon has an INCREDIBLE selection of art, many pieces you'd only find in a Jansen art text is right here for your viewing pleasure. As a Pratt alumni and artist, this is my favorite museum to show to visitors.

I love this place, especially Yani! She's sweet and careful, thoughtful and thorough. I always feel 200% after an appointment and recommend this place to all my friends looking for a great wax.

Not only is Damon's an institution recognized outside of the state of California, but it's been a SOLID community gathering place and fund-raising machine for our city. The people, the ambience and events are amazing. And the drinks are great, too!
