"HI!!! How are you?!! You sure you want to or are able to do my wedding even if I live in Northern Virginia????" (An hour outside Washington, DC)
"You BET! We can work it through the phone, Internet, and I'm sure you'll be flying out here to meet other vendors of your choice, as we get through it!!" said Suzanne, and like from the movie, 'Casablanca,' we formed a wonderful, lasting and beautiful friendship from there on out."
I'm a Tomboy through and through, but with Suzanne, you'd never had known. Her excitement and laughter allowed my own creativity to be unleashed as I dumped all formal traditions and Suzanne helped me create a very Customized wedding!!! We headed into the vast freedom of oceanic colors and discovered a world of dramatic, rich, vibrant jewel toned rainbow from a silk sarong I had purchased in Fiji that last December Scuba diving trip where my Kiwi proposed. This sarong became the core root of all base colors of all my wedding and I took it to every vendor to help match colors and undertones for materials for each portion of my wedding details. From my wedding dress of a Deep Midnight Blue, beautiful Turquoise and rich mauve, we coordinated my specially designed Rose bouquet in deep pinks mixed cream lavenders, setting off the midnight blue of my wedding gown. Everyone at my wedding had a chance to bring home 7 items in the wedding, from a sarong on the table, the 8x10 Table Card, Frame and all which was an underwater photo my husband took from many of our vacations scuba diving, a Momma and baby dolphin bottle opener and placecard holder, an underwater scuba diving center piece complete with glass scuba diver, flowers, ribbons, and a Parasol. Suzanne's eye for creativity and coordinating of all the details were amazing. Her support throughout some of the 'stresses' such as the Wedding Engagement Ring nightmare were just fantastic. We talked everyday, and she helped me learn all about the wedding industry on my way to getting married. My Exotic Island wedding dream came true. From my request for a rose bouquet, 5 Island Wedding Cake, and every flower petal on the sands of the shoreline of Laguna Beach, Ca, to helping me answer all my questions, subsiding my fears, and sharing in my Exotic Island Dream Wedding. Also, when someone in my family was upset they didn't have photos of certain things, Suzanne helped get me more flowers, and fulfill the extra fun day filled with taking more photos of my wedding.
My wedding experience with Suzanne didn't stop at this wedding, but I got married a second time in New Zealand with my Kiwi's family and friends, and she gave me full support as she helped me pick out flowers down under. I actually got married 3 Times, 3 Receptions. I couldn't have done it without the help of Suzanne M Smith, an Angel who came into my life, as one of the best experiences I've ever had... on a day and moment in time, when its one of the most special to share and remember for the rest of your days in life. There's no one on earth like Suzanne when it comes to weddings and events. She loves every detail of it, from start to finish, and like James Taylor's song, "Stay," you just wanted to stay at the wedding until they folded up the chairs and cleared the room for the next event... Yep, I still feel like it was yesterday, August 23rd, 2003.
