I had lunch one day at "Break of Dawn" because it was highly recommended by a friend. The service was excellent. I'm kind of a "meat and potatoes" eater, so it was a bit exotic for me, but the meal that was served was well-prepared and I enjoyed it.

I'm only commenting today because I find LolaLaguna's review very offensive. She really gave us "her side of the story" didn't she? I agree that the chef was most likely being friendly, but apparently she and her husband completely lack a sense of humor and felt persecuted. Maybe Lola and Mr. Lola should try taking themselves a bit less seriously, and next time, give someone the benefit of the doubt when they are trying to make friendly conversation with a customer.

I seriously doubt he told them to "never come back," but from Lola's attitude, it sounds to me like he certainly had a right to do so.

"Idontcaredoyou" is obviously bitter about something, and it can't be Tracey's chocolate!

Downey Chocolates are the best I've ever had. I'm sad, however, to report that they have closed their doors. This economy has just been too much for the small business to withstand. Tracey took down her customer's email addresses, and said she'll let us know when gets back up on her feet. It's too bad that we lost our delicious, local chocolate shop.

This lovely little wine boutique has been operating for several years, and is owned by the Mother/Daughter team of Candy and Christine.

The ladies certainly know their wine, and will warmly greet you when you drop by ... don't know what you're looking for? No problem, Candy and Christine can help you find the perfect wine at the perfect price for your budget! No one ever feels "intimidated" when they shop for wine at From the Vine Wine Boutique!

FTVWB also offers wine tastings Thursday through Saturday, and they always serve an amazing variety of wines. They specialize in selling really great "boutique" wines, not the same old stuff you find at BevMo and the grocery store. They often have the actual winemakers in the shops during the tasting ... check out all the winemaker's signatures on the wall when you come by. I love the fact that I can pick up a great wine for "everyday" for just $10 or a super special occasion wine for more if I like ... the variety of choices is wonderful, plus they give 10% discounts when you buy by the case, which is what I like to do!!!

Come around often enough and you'll definitely make a lot of new friends! From the Vine has a loyal "fan base" of regular customers who stop by just to chat with the ladies, and enjoy a wine tasting with the friendly group of "regulars" who have dubbed this place "their own version of Cheers."

Be sure to give this great little wine shop a try the next time you're in Laguna Niguel. They are located in the Aliso Village Shopping Center, behind the Soup Plantation. If you come by, tell them "Frazier" sent you!!
