West Coast Whoopies Bakery

Category: Bakery (10 listings)

We are West Coast Whoopies & Cupcakes and we began in 2007 as a way to show to the West Coast not only our friendly new East Coast faces, but also our favorite treats, Whoopie Pies! Arriving to wonderful, sunny California from Boston, we were surprised to learn that Whoopie pies were unknown to the West Coast. We decided to take it upon ourselves to introduce you to a sweet delicacy you won't forget! So, if you haven't tried one, or you have tried one and you love them as much as we do, let us add some Whoopie to your day! We are happy ‘cuz we Whoopie!
Nobody knows for sure the origin of the Whoopie Pie, but what we, the owners of West Coast Whoopies, know is that they started in New England, and we're bringing them out here to the West Coast. Some believe they started in a Bangor, Maine bakery with leftover cake batter, while others believe they started with the Pennsylvania Dutch. The Amish mothers would, so the story goes, leave the homemade treat in their children's lunch bag, and upon discovering them, the children would shout, “Whoopieeee!” in delight. The Whoopie pie evolved from using leftover cake batter and a cream-like filling, to then including Marshmallow Fluff, another East Coast delicacy, in the filling. What has come out of years of family tradition and varying recipes is one we believe we've perfected.

I order by mail and they are the best on the internet for Gluten Free products! My family has a Gluren intolerance but still enjoys cakes/sshoopies on birthdays and holidays like all Americans. West Coast meets that challenge and exceeds all our expectaions for freshness, flavor, nutrition as well as eye appeal and in todays economy "Price Sensitivity"!!! Don't miss this Diamond in your own backyard! I have 43 years in Food & Beverage and this is my pick.......

West Coast Whoopies Bakery are the best!!! I got married last year 08/16/08, and had a terrible experience with a bakery near by....and West Coast Bakery came to our rescue!!! they treated us very well, and we even got a grooms cake shaped as a Frog and they made our day complete!!! the wedding cake was easy to describe to them and they knew exactly what we wanted....we only had one week to give them and they just opened their doors to us ...by letting us come to the shop before the business hours began!!! and they were very concern that we got what we wanted.... they are always going to be recommmended to our family and friends!!! Cliff & Lora Nowlin.....

I've got to admit the place sounded great on t.v. We live in Redlands, so it wasn't too far. I worked out an extra 30 minutes to treat myself to one of these 'Whoopies". I chose the red velvet whoopie and I wasn't so thrilled. Maybe that's not one of their specialties, but I don't know that I'd be running back for one of these. Workers were very friendly and knowledgeable about the products. In the end...not a big deal and not sure how it made the hot list.

A bit out of the way. My choc peanut butter whoopie pie was dry. Thought it might be day old. We also tried the red velvet with cream cheese and it was better, but not what I expected.

Born & raised on the east coast where the Whoopie Pie originated, it brings me back to my childhood every time I eat one. The variety of flavors available is enough to please anyone's tastebuds. Rich chocolate & vanilla cakes filled with your favorite flavored fillings, and the spices of the pumpkin & gingerbread with the creamy cheese fillings are enough to please any palate. Don't forget the fruited scones, or the gooey cinnamon rolls to add to the delites. It all brings me back to my childhood. Try the Whooie Pies lightly frozen for an even better treat to help keep cool from the heat. Alisa has taken the west coast by storm!!!!!

Let me tell you these Whoopies Rock! Living in So. Cal all my life, I had no idea what they were. Well, Alisa, and Ryan set me straight. They showed me what a whoopie pie was, and I have been in love ever since. They have fantastic flavors, and they are great for parties. Now that I have moved to the Virgin Islands. I miss them so much! P.S. Pumpkin Spice Rules!!

Good, yummy. Happy in your mouth and better with another bite. The Whoopie pie may be the highest form of baked goods around. The Pumpkin and cream cheese is good, the Red Velvet Whoopie Pie is better. Ginger Whoopie Pie with cinnamon fluff is out of this world. Eat with a good sharp ginger ale and you are happy boy. If you haven't tried one, get out there and do it quick. Yum.

The service is wonderful! Alisa is so friendly and helpful, working hard to make your order perfect for your event! Alisa has helped me make my graduation parties, my thank you's to hospital staff who have taken care of my family members, my office parties, my dinner parties, and my holiday events special and memorable! Now I don't know how I lived without whoopie pies! My favorites are the chocolate whoopies with peanut butter filling, the pumpkin whoopies with the creamy filling, and the chocolate whoopies with the mint filling. Really it is hard to choose, so sometimes I just ask Alisa to surprise me and I order an assorted mix of whoopie bites! If you haven't tried them, you need to!
