Zip Fusion’s vibrant double front restaurant space features a performance kitchen and front patio, packed well after midnight. The high-ceiling interior features organic sienna and deep blue walls with large, handsome abstract organic paintings in the front and side dining rooms, as well as the three intimate, state-of-the-art karaoke rooms tucked around one side that hold five to 15 guests. Described as “unique Asian-California Fusion with soul” cuisine, Owner-proprietor Jason Ha and Chef Sean take advantage of the “astonishing array of fresh produce and fish available in Los Angeles.”

I used to eat at their original location in Downtown. Then they opened the west-side location that also includes private karaoke rooms. Both locations have great food and atmosphere but the west-side one is my favorite because of the karaoke.

I never liked sushi until I tried their spicy tuna tempura rolls. Now I eat all kinds of sushi. Everything there is great. They have Soju (traditional Korean Liquor distilled from rice, barley and sweet potato) in lots of different flavors. They will even make your drink stronger at no extra charge if you ask -- it actually says that on their menu!

The atmosphere is really cool too. A very modern twist on the traditional Asian decor.

Everything on their menu is reasonably priced. They also give generous discounts to UCLA students on both food and karaoke.
